Checkout they buffet too...(I'll post some food on their buffet later)

*elegant table setting for a Chinese New Year reunion dinner*
can you spot some golden dragon decor here?

alright starting with a splash!!!!
Pineapple aka. "ONG LAI"
which means prosperity....
*Summer Splash*
a fresh blend juice and I love the natural sweetness which comes from the fruit itself! very natural indeed...=]

Yee Sang or Prosperity Toss, also known as lo hei (Cantonese for 捞起) is a Teochew-style raw fish salad. It usually consists of strips of raw fish (most commonly salmon), mixed with shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces and condiments, among other ingredients.

*Salmon Yee Sang with Crispy Salmon Skin*
I love the mix crispy~chunky~balanced sweet, bitter, salty and spicy taste. These four tastes represent the different experiences one goes through in life. Also the sweet and sour plum sauce which is a must for "lou sang" For those who afraid of eating RAW stuff like me, just give it a try as when everything mixed up you won't feel the RAW taste at all...=)

Yúshēng (鱼生) is interpreted as a homophone for Yúshēng (余升) meaning an increase in abundance. Therefore, yusheng is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor. So guys~ the higher the better!!! people always added “捞到风生水起”, “身体健康”, “万事如意”, “一本万利” hoping for the good cause...

this is the scenario after tossing....although it looks a bit messy but fascinating color!!!! By the way yee sang is a healthy dish because it was mainly vegetables and less fat~

*Pan-Fried Lamb Rack with Chef Special Sauce*

Lamb is always my choice no matter what and as you can see chef added some chinese wolf berries here for  a more healthy recipe....it might look a bit overcooked here as the lamb is dark but it's the sauce actually... the taste of the sauce covered the strong flavor from lamb nicely.

*Braised Shark’s Fin with Assorted Seafood*
normally we will have a few of shark's fin in soup...but this is my first time to see a bowl of shark fin separately! wow~really an honest proof that they used lots of shark's fin in the soup....

*Steamed Chicken with Herbs*
again chef used Chinese red dates in the cuisine and it's a brilliant decision for the chef to pair meat with vegetables....eat a healthier lifestyle!

*Deep-Fried Cod Fish with Superior Soya Sauce*

Chef deep fried the cod fish and topped with the spring leafs and ginger flakes...I was surprised with the  crispy and crunchy coating....and yet having a moist and juicy texture in it! Oh my gosh.....how thick was the  fish!!!satisfying...remember to dunk in some sauce....=P

*Deep-Fried Prawns with Seafood Sauce*
the presentation really gave me a woww just before the taste!!!

*Braised Fish Maw, Sea Cucumber, Dried Oyster & Black Mushroom with Seasonal Vegetable*

*Claypot Wax Duck Rice*

*Deep Fried Nian Gao *

Sweetened Red Bean Paste

here's the whole community that night...we had fish..xiangcool..esther..(sorry forget his name)..Jennifer(Chasingfooddreams)..Sidney(bigboysoven)..CQTV production team..
last but not least those friendly executives of Checkers Cafe....
thanks for the hospitality!!!=)
Gong hei Gong hei....

spotted a cute dragon yee sang display there...

Yin Yin, the dishes look yummy! Talking about Yu Sheng, just watched a Chinese documentary & found out that Yu Sheng was created by a Singaporean & its popularity soon spread to China & other parts of Asia.

Shame on me being a S'porean, always thought it's from China. Lol!
